NAF Aerial Assault Strikes Tagoshe Hideout in Mandara Mountains, Neutralizes Abu Asad and Others

In what stands as one of the Air Component’s highly successful operations within Operation Hadin Kai, Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircraft executed precision air strikes on a gathering of terrorists in an isolated location on November 24, 2023.

Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet the Air Force Spokesman explained that the strike targeted three zinc-structured buildings nestled among numerous trees. Video footage revealed that the terrorists were amassing at the site, engaged in banter, and moving randomly around the structures, which also housed four troop carriers. Over 100 heavily armed terrorists were observed. The aftermath of the airstrike confirmed the destruction of two out of the three structures and the complete elimination of the troop carriers. Key figures such as Abu Asad, associated with the Ali Ngulde group under Boko Haram, along with other terrorists like Ibrahim Nakeeb, Mujaheed Dimtu, Mustafa Munzir, and several fighters, were among those neutralized in the operation.

Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, the Chief of the Air Staff, expressed commendation for the Air Component Commander and the personnel involved, urging them to maintain collaborative efforts with the Land Component to sustain the momentum in “keeping the terrorists on their toes.” He emphasized the need to continue justifying the trust and confidence bestowed by the Federal Government and the people, ensuring a relentless pursuit to make life untenable for terrorists and criminals until they surrender or are completely eliminated.
